In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the Gunsmith gets a major overhaul with the introduction of Aftermarket Parts, offering a fresh dimension to weapon customization. Dive into this groundbreaking innovation that’s set to revolutionize your gunplay experience.
New Challenges, New Playstyles
The Gunsmith system in Modern Warfare III retains its familiar mechanics, allowing players to unlock attachments and tailor weapons to their playstyle. However, a significant change awaits those who max out their weapons – Aftermarket Parts. These game-changing components can dramatically transform your firearms.
Conversion Kits: A New Dimension
Aftermarket Parts, represented by Conversion Kits, serve as remixes for your guns. They breathe new life into weapons you’ve already mastered, offering an entirely fresh perspective on familiar firearms. These powerful, meaningful changes can turn your trusted weapon into something entirely different.
Three Aftermarket Weapons
Let’s explore three examples of Conversion Kits and how they can reshape your weapons:
1. Pulemyot LMG
Unlock Challenge at Max Level: Get 25 Kills while hip firing or using Tac-Stance.
Transform the belt-fed Pulemyot LMG into a Bullpup LMG with enhanced mobility, handling, rate of fire, and reduced hip-fire recoil. Add recoil pads to the Stock for accuracy and an Aftermarket Bullpup Barrel for improved bullet velocity and damage range. This loadout is perfect for aggressive play.
2. Renetti Handgun with Full-Auto Carbine
Unlock Challenge at Max Level: Get 30 Kills with five attachments equipped.
Convert the burst-fire Renetti into a full-auto Handgun with increased bullet velocity, range, and rate of fire. Add a larger Magazine to minimize reloads and consider extending your damage range with a Barrel. This loadout blurs the line between Handgun and SMG.
3. WSP Swarm with Akimbo Brace Stocks
Unlock Challenge at Max Level: Unlock via weekly challenge in the preseason.
Equip dual WSP Swarm weapons with Akimbo Brace Stocks, sacrificing some damage range and mobility for overwhelming firepower. Pair it with a Laser for improved hip-fire accuracy or a Suppressor with Hollow Point Ammunition for stealthy, aggressive gameplay.
More Gunsmith Enhancements
Modern Warfare III’s Gunsmith doesn’t stop at Aftermarket Parts. It brings other innovations, including shared attachments and no Aim Down Sights speed penalties for 1x zoom Optic attachments.
Attachment Unlocks
Attachments like Grips, Barrels, Magazines, and Stocks will no longer be restricted to specific weapons. If you’ve unlocked an attachment for one weapon, it becomes available for others, streamlining your customization options.
1x Optic Attachments
Unlike in Modern Warfare II, equipping a 1x zoom Optic attachment won’t slow down your Aim Down Sights speed. This change enhances your target acquisition speed when using these sights.
