Forza Motorsport has been out for a while now, and we’ve got to try out a good number of cars. So far, a firm favourite is the Ford Focus RS ’09. In this guide, we’ll share an honest review and give you some tips to help you get the most out of the 09 Focus RS in Forza Motorsport.
Ford Focus RS 09 stats & class
The Ford Focus 09 is a C-class car, with a base rating of 485 PL. By no means is it the highest base-rating car in it’s class, but it’s not the lowest, either. The Focus has always been a classic for those who love to drive hatchbacks and the 09 Focus RS in Forza Motorsport is no different. It’s well planted with good grip, and it’s snappy acceleration gives you the opportunity to leave your fellow racers in the dust out of corners.
High-Level stats:
Ford Focus 09 Speed: 2.8
Ford Focus 09 Braking: 2.6
Ford Focus 09 Handling: 2.6
Ford Focus 09 Acceleration: 3.0
How does the Ford Focus 09 handle in Forza?
The Focus has been known for its fairly good handling, with pretty snappy acceleration, and Forza Motorsport’s edition is no different. The base car can be a little slow at top speed, and its breaking can be a little weak, but once you master the Focus, it’s a strong car worth having in your inventory.
Actually, once you reduce your fuel, adjust your tyres and upgrade the front tyres on the Focus, it’s by far one of the best cars in its class.
How much does the Motorsport Focus cost?
In line with all of the cars in the C-class, the Ford Focus RS 09 costs 70,000 to unlock the base model. Most cars in the C-class are 70,000-90,000, which makes the Focus a good deal in the C-class, especially once you upgrade the car.
Forza Motorsport Ford Focus RS 09 Tips
The Ford Focus ’09 is really fun to drive, especially when you’re racing against cars within the same class. It’s car that isn’t harsh, and very forgiving in corners – so don’t worry if you’re not a pro yet.
Top tips:
- Don’t follow the breaking line. The Focus has fantastic breaking to begin with, you can toy around with the breaking and save seconds on your lap.
- Work towards upgrading your front tyres to improve grip to make use of the car’s fantastic take-off speed.
- The 300HP engine is powerful, but you can always tweak the camshaft to improve the performance of the car.
