This is certainly a development no one saw coming. Call of Duty, known for its eclectic assortment of unexpected crossovers, always manages to catch us off guard, despite our knowledge of its history. It’s past the point where we could reasonably consider Call of Duty a ‘gritty, realistic’ series. That notion was abandoned the moment Warzone players began mining King Kong’s testicles for XP.
Lately, the community’s attention has been fixated on the anticipated 2023 launch of the next Call of Duty iteration. Though official information is scarce, this hasn’t deterred rumour mongers from hinting at what’s to come. There’s speculation that the next installment will be a sequel to Modern Warfare II and may be set against the backdrop of the Gulf War. The reappearance of a presumably deceased antagonist has also been hinted at, adding to the intrigue. However, everything remains largely speculative at this point. But there’s something concrete for you today: a crossover between Call of Duty and The Boys is on the horizon.
Yes, you read that right. Characters from The Boys are set to infiltrate the Call of Duty universe. According to a cryptic video reposted on the official Call of Duty Twitter account, it seems Homelander, Black Noir, and Starlight will be the ones stepping into the fray. The video shows the mute Black Noir at a ‘press conference’, responding to questions about his and his co-stars’ appearance in Call of Duty with a simple nod.
Following queries about when the characters will be available for use in the game, Black Noir shrugs nonchalantly. Questions about potential friction between Seven’s co-captains, Homelander and Starlight, are dismissed with a head shake. When asked about his preferred in-game weapon, Black Noir proceeds to display his dual blades.
Who is Homelander?
Homelander is a central character from the hit TV series ‘The Boys,’ which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Known as the most powerful superhero in the show’s universe, Homelander is portrayed as the leader of The Seven, a premier group of superheroes. On the surface, he appears as an embodiment of the ideal American hero, modeled after archetypes like Superman and Captain America, with his patriotic costume and seemingly righteous persona. However, beneath this veneer lies a deeply narcissistic and sociopathic personality, willing to commit horrifying acts for personal gain and to maintain his image and control. His abilities include super strength, invulnerability, flight, and laser vision, making him an incredibly formidable character.
Starlight is landing in Warzone
Amongst Black Noir & Homelander, Starlight is also landing in Warzone Season 4 reloaded.
