After 15 years of waiting, Minecraft players can now craft saddles! Introduced in the 1.21.6 update, this long-requested feature is part of the Summer Drop 2025, making saddles more accessible than ever before.
🛠️ Saddle Crafting Recipe
To craft a saddle, you’ll need:
- 3 Leather
- 1 Iron Ingot
This recipe unlocks automatically when you obtain your first piece of leather.
🐖 Removing Saddles with Shears
In addition to crafting, you can now remove saddles from certain mobs using shears. This feature is particularly useful for animals like pigs, which don’t have inventories. Simply use shears on the saddled mob to retrieve the saddle.

- Bedrock Edition: Beta/Preview versions
