How to Find Mercenary Convoys – COD MWZ

One of the ACT I (1) missions in COD MWZ – Zombies – is to one) find and destroy a mercenary convoy and two) Collect a Stronghold keycard from a soldier in the convoy.

Mercenary convoys spawn randomly in Zombies, so it can be hard to find them, and generally relies on luck – or that was the case until we found one of the mercenary convoy spawn locations.

One of the spawn points of the Convey is Zaravan Suburbs (pictured below). This spawn location will more often than not spawn three mercenary convoy vehicles. Each vehicle will contain a mix of mercenaries, grunts and recon types, with varying armour.

From our research, the AI convoy will spawn when you get near the Suburbs. This means that it is a spawn point, instead of a part of the route – which means you’ll be much more likely to find the Zombies convoy here.

How to find The Mercenary Stronghold card

Typically, you can buy the stronghold cards for $2000 at the buy station, however the ACT 1 mission requires you to collect the stronghold keycard from the convoy. To find the Convoy Keycard, eliminate all mercenaries and loot their bodies to find the small ground-pick-up keycard. The keycard is as goldy-silver colour and will drop within 1-3 feet of the mercenary.

Be careful when you’re looking for the stronghold card. Sometimes it can fall inside of the mercenary. The card is a tiny item that will land directly on the floor, so you won’t need to open the body inventory.

Remember to loot the mercenary armoured trucks

Did you know that the Mercenary Armoured trucks contain a small loot cache in the truckbed of the car? These Loot boxes contain anything from essence to perks schematics. Make sure you remember to loot them before moving on.

We’d suggest using an airstrike or plenty of grenades on the convoy to make it easier to cut through them as fast as possible. Since the mercenaries can hit you very fast and hold plenty of health, it can be hard to tackle them individually.
