The best flying mounts in Palworld

Exploring the Palpagos Islands on foot can take forever. Scaling massive mountain ranges or flying across ocean gaps requires a reliable air mount. With the launch of Palworld 1.0, developers added new Pals, rebalanced movement stats, and adjusted saddle unlock levels.

Whether you are just starting out or taking on endgame raids, choosing the right flyer saves time and stamina. Here is the full guide to the best flying mounts in Palworld 1.0 for every stage of your adventure.

The Undisputed King: Jetragon

If you want pure speed, Jetragon remains the best flying mount in the game.

  • Ride Sprint Speed: 3,300
  • Base Flight Speed: 1,700
  • Stamina: 110
  • Saddle Unlock: Level 79 (Missile Launcher)

Jetragon moves more than twice as fast as almost every other flyer. Its mounted missile launcher deals massive aerial damage, making it a powerful combat asset as well.

The main drawback is its stamina. While its top speed gets you across the map instantly, it burns through energy quickly. You also cannot ride Jetragon until very late in the game.

Early Game Flying Mounts (Level 15 – 24)

When starting out, focus on unlocking your first set of wings as soon as possible.

Nitewing (Level 15)  --->  Vanwyrm (Level 21)

1. Nitewing

  • Paldex Entry: Nitewing
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 750
  • Stamina: 100
  • Saddle Tech Level: 15

Nitewing is the first flying mount most players unlock. While it is relatively slow, it opens up aerial exploration and allows you to reach high cliffs without climbing. Crafting the saddle requires 20 Leather, 10 Cloth, 15 Ingots, 20 Fiber, and 20 Paldium Fragments.

2. Vanwyrm

  • Paldex Entry: Vanwyrm
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 850
  • Stamina: 150
  • Saddle Tech Level: 21

Once you reach Level 21, replace Nitewing with Vanwyrm immediately. Vanwyrm offers a noticeable bump in sprint speed and 50% more stamina. Because it is a dual Fire/Dark element Pal, it also provides great combat utility during early boss fights.

Mid Game Flying Mounts (Level 25 – 45)

Mid game fliers offer a great balance between travel speed, stamina, and combat strength.

1. Helzephyr

  • Paldex Entry: Helzephyr
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 1,100
  • Stamina: 170
  • Saddle Tech Level: 25

Helzephyr is a fantastic Dark-type mount that spawns exclusively at night. It crosses 1,000+ speed thresholds easily while offering solid stamina reserve.

2. Beakon

  • Paldex Entry: Beakon
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 1,200
  • Stamina: 160
  • Saddle Tech Level: 29

Found in the desert regions, Beakon provides reliable Electric-type attacks and fast movement speed. It is one of the smooth-handling mid game options for long-distance travel.

3. Ragnahawk

  • Paldex Entry: Ragnahawk
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 1,300
  • Stamina: 150
  • Saddle Tech Level: 33

Ragnahawk is one of the best overall progression mounts in Palworld. It flies fast, fits easily through cave entrances, and applies Fire damage to all your attacks while mounted.

Late & Endgame Flying Mounts (Level 46+)

Endgame fliers handle long-distance mapping, boss farming, and high-altitude flight.

1. Frostallion & Frostallion Noct

Frostallion combines high sprint speed with a massive 300 stamina pool. You can stay in the air nearly three times longer than Jetragon before needing to land.

2. Xenolord

  • Paldex Entry: Xenolord
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 2,700
  • Stamina: 300
  • Saddle Tech Level: 66

Xenolord is arguably the most comfortable long-distance flyer in the game. It almost matches Jetragon’s speed while keeping the massive stamina pool of Frostallion.

3. Panthalus

  • Paldex Entry: Panthalus
  • Ride Sprint Speed: 3,000
  • Stamina: Infinite (Cruising)

Panthalus is a massive sky-whale mount added in recent updates. It runs at a flat 3,000 speed without draining stamina during steady flight. If you hate managing energy meters, Panthalus is the top option.

How to Maximize Mount Movement Speed

To make your flying mounts even faster, breed them with movement speed passive skills. Speed passives stack additively, allowing you to double your flight speed:

  1. Swift: +30% Movement Speed
  2. Runner: +20% Movement Speed
  3. Legend: +15% Movement Speed (Innate on Legendary Pals)
  4. Nimble: +10% Movement Speed

Combining Swift, Runner, Legend, and Nimble yields a +75% speed boost. Stacking passives on Jetragon or Xenolord lets you traverse the entire map in seconds.
