In the early game, you’ll find yourself doing anything to find scrap in Rust. Especially with a blueprint wipe, getting through the tier 1 table is the difference between making the night and being wiped off the map with a foundation raid. It makes sense that early game you’ll find people running roads to find comps and scrap.
If you’re on a high-pop Rust server, you’ll find it hard to run monuments like The Dome or Launch Site – as chances are they’ll be overridden by other players. So, you’re wondering how to make Scrap in Early game? The answer to the question is a near-unlimited source of scrap – Horses. Read on to find out how to make insane amounts of scrap with Horses.
Horse fertiliser scrap method
Since Horsepocolypse, we’ve been able to sell fertiliser to the Bandit Camp. In return for 1 fertiliser, you can generate 3 scrap. With this in mind, you can create a fertiliser farm to generate 450 scrap per hour. If you’re wondering how to do it, follow the guide.
Step 1: Build a horse stable
You’ll want somewhere to keep your prized moneymakers warm, fed and safe. Start by building a 2-by-1 stone base with an open entry – if you have a compound. This 2-by-1 will house 4 horses, although you can start with two or even 3 horses to start making some serious cash.
To make sure they don’t pass in the night, you’ll want to make sure you keep the horses warm. If you’ve built in the Snow or Desert, you’ll want to pay double attention here. On Tier 1, research all of the electrical components including the battery, heater, and electrical wire. You can use any electrical generator of your choice, but we’d suggest using a solar panel if you’re short on low-grade for generators.
Once you’ve build a generator, the 2-by-1, heaters and battery, start by connecting them all up and placing the heater so that it warms the horses to keep them healthy in the cold nights.
Step 2: Feed horses and collect Horse Dung
Every so often your horses will produce Horse Dung, which you will place inside of the composter to generate fertiliser. This is why we suggest using as many horses as you can, as the more horses, the more horse dung you can collect, which means you’ll make more fertiliser and more scrap much faster.
On each square of your 2-by-1, build and place a Hitch & Trough (200 wood). The Trough will be used to constantly feed your horses so that they produce horse dung to be turned into fertiliser.
Step 3: Using the Composter to Generate Fertiliser
Every single piece of horse dung will generate 10 pieces of fertiliser. As soon as you collect horse dung, evenly distribute it in your composter to compost it efficiently. On the assumption that your horses will produce 5 dung each every 30 minutes, you will receive 15 dung, which will produce 150 fertiliser. Each piece of fertiliesier sells for 3 scrap at bandit camp. this means that, almost entirely passively you can generate up to 450 scrap in 20 minutes.
