Now that horses are on both PC and Console as of August 2023, it’ll be good to know that the Black Thoroughbred is the fastest horse in Rust. The Black Thoroughbred can achieve a maximum speed of up to 58.5 km/h with maximum stamina, and that’s without a horseshoe!
Whilst speed is the main thing you’ll be looking for, it’s good to know that the Bay horse has the highest possible HP, at 440HP instead of the 400 of all other horses. Knowing that the Black Thoroughbred is extremely rare, and can only be found in the Large Barn Monument, it’s good to know that the Chestnut horse is the third fastest at 51.5 km/h.
The second fastest horse, but equally as rare as the Black Thoroughbred is the White Thoroughbred, which clocks in at an impressive 58.5 km/h.

How to buy a horse
The fastest way to buy a new horse in Rust is to head straight to the barn, or ranch and chat to the man at the front of the building to purchase a saddle, which you can place on the horse of your choosing. Each saddle will cost 75 scrap for a single saddle, or 90 scrap for double saddle. For a full guide on how to quickly get a horse, check our tutorial on getting the scrap.
