Prices can change throughout Prime Big Deal Days, so we’ll be keeping an eye on the best offers.

Nintendo Switch 2 Drops to a Record-Low £354.99

If there’s one gaming deal we’re putting right at the top of the list, it’s this one.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has fallen to £354.99 during Amazon’s October Prime Day event, down from £419.99.

That’s a £65 saving and, according to current UK deal reporting, represents a record-low price for Nintendo’s latest console.

The Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch 1080p display with HDR and VRR support, 256GB of internal storage and the ability to output up to 4K when docked. Compatible games can also take advantage of refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

For anyone who has been waiting for the right moment to upgrade from the original Nintendo Switch, this is easily one of the most interesting gaming deals of Prime Big Deal Days.

Why we’d buy it: £65 is a meaningful discount on a current-generation console, particularly after Nintendo’s UK pricing increased earlier this year.

Best for: Nintendo fans, families and anyone wanting a hybrid console for both handheld and TV gaming.

The Logitech G305 Is Just £18.99

You don’t need to spend hundreds of pounds to make a noticeable upgrade to your gaming setup.

The Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED is currently down to just £18.99, making it one of the easiest budget recommendations of the entire sale.

The wireless mouse uses Logitech’s HERO sensor and LIGHTSPEED wireless connection, weighs 99g and can deliver up to 250 hours of battery life from a single AA battery.

At this price, it’s particularly difficult to complain about the fact that it isn’t one of today’s ultra-lightweight gaming mice.

Why we’d buy it: It’s a proven gaming mouse from a major brand for less than £20.

Best for: Budget PC gaming setups, secondary PCs and anyone replacing an ageing mouse.

The catch: It uses an AA battery rather than USB-C charging and is heavier than many newer competitive gaming mice.

Acer Nitro V16 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop Saves £200

If you’re looking for a much bigger upgrade, this is where things get interesting.

The Acer Nitro V16 configuration featuring an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 has dropped to £1,099.99, down from £1,299.99.

That’s a £200 saving on a gaming laptop equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 260 processor, RTX 5070 graphics, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.

The laptop also features a 16-inch 1920 × 1200 display running at 180Hz.

That’s a considerably more capable proposition than the entry-level gaming laptops that tend to dominate sale events.

Why we’d buy it: The RTX 5070 makes this a serious modern gaming machine rather than simply a cheap laptop with a gaming badge slapped on it.

Best for: Gamers who need portability, students and anyone upgrading from an older GTX or RTX 20/30-series laptop.

The catch: 16GB of RAM is fine for gaming, but heavier content-creation workloads may eventually benefit from more memory.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

  • Prime Day price: £32.99
  • Typical price: £69.99
  • Saving: £37 / around 53%

Amazon’s latest Fire TV Stick 4K is one of the cheaper tech upgrades in this year’s Prime Big Deal Days sale, dropping to just £32.99.

The updated streaming stick plugs directly into your TV or compatible display and supports 4K Ultra HD streaming, making it an inexpensive way to add smart streaming features to an older television.

The new model also comes with an updated Alexa Voice Remote and improved performance over previous generations.

Who should buy it: Anyone looking for an inexpensive streaming upgrade, particularly if you have a secondary TV or want to turn a compatible monitor into an entertainment display.

Important specifications: 4K Ultra HD streaming, Wi-Fi connectivity, Alexa Voice Remote and Amazon’s new Vega operating system.

Why the current deal is attractive: At £32.99, you’re saving £37 from Amazon’s £69.99 list price, putting a new 4K Fire TV Stick firmly into impulse-buy territory.

Drawbacks to know: The move to Vega OS means the new Fire TV Stick does not support traditional Android app sideloading, which could be important if you’ve used older Fire TV devices for unofficial apps.

Kindle Colorsoft

  • Prime Day price: £144.99
  • Typical price: £259.99
  • Saving: £115 / around 44%

Not everything in our Prime Day roundup has to be gaming hardware. The Kindle Colorsoft is a particularly interesting alternative for anyone who wants a dedicated colour e-reader.

The Colorsoft brings colour to the Kindle range, making it more useful for comics, graphic novels, magazines and illustrated books while retaining the distraction-free reading experience of a dedicated Kindle.

At £144.99, it’s also substantially cheaper than its £259.99 typical price.

Who should buy it: Readers who want colour content on an e-reader, particularly fans of comics, manga and graphic novels.

Important specifications: Colour display, Kindle e-book support, adjustable front lighting and a dedicated e-reader design.

Why the current deal is attractive: A £115 saving makes this one of the more substantial percentage discounts in the wider tech section of the sale.

Drawbacks to know: If you only read standard black-and-white novels, a cheaper Kindle may offer better value.

A 1TB Gen 4 SSD for £182.99

The SanDisk Optimus GX 7100 1TB is currently available for £182.99, down from £205.99.

This is a PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive capable of sequential read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s, making it a high-performance option for gaming PCs and other demanding systems.

With modern games regularly taking up more than 100GB, adding another fast SSD can be a much more practical upgrade than continually deleting games to make room for the next one.

Why we’d buy it: Excellent performance and plenty of speed for a modern gaming PC.

Best for: PC gamers who are running out of storage and want a fast Gen 4 upgrade.

The catch: £182.99 isn’t particularly cheap for 1TB of storage. You’re paying for high-end performance rather than simply buying the most storage possible for your money.

Amazon Echo Dot

  • Prime Day price: £29.99
  • Typical price: £54.99
  • Saving: £25 / around 45%

If you’re looking for something even cheaper, Amazon’s Echo Dot is down to £29.99 during Prime Big Deal Days.

The compact smart speaker provides access to Alexa, allowing you to control compatible smart-home devices, set timers and alarms, check information and play music using voice commands.

It’s also small enough to sit almost anywhere, making it an easy addition to a bedroom, gaming room or office.

Who should buy it: Anyone starting to build a smart home, or gamers who want an inexpensive voice assistant for their desk or gaming room.

Important specifications: Alexa voice assistant, compact speaker design and smart-home device control.

Why the current deal is attractive: At £29.99, it’s a relatively low-risk way to add Alexa to another room without spending much.

Drawbacks to know: Sound quality is obviously limited by the Echo Dot’s compact size, so it isn’t a replacement for a proper music speaker.

Get More From Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime offers more than just access to major shopping events. Members can get fast, free delivery on eligible orders, access to Prime Video, Prime Gaming, Amazon Music Prime and a range of other benefits.

For younger shoppers, Prime for Young Adults can make membership particularly worthwhile. Eligible young adults can get a 5% discount on eligible textbooks, which could make a noticeable difference if you’re regularly buying books for university or college.

Prime Gaming is another useful perk for gamers, with members able to claim free games and in-game content as part of their membership, with new benefits added regularly.

And if you regularly order gaming accessories, PC components, electronics or other tech from Amazon, having delivery included on eligible orders can quickly add up.

If you’re eligible, Amazon also offers a free trial, giving you the chance to try Prime before deciding whether to continue with a paid membership.

Best Amazon Prime Day Tech Deals Under £50

Not everyone wants to spend hundreds of pounds during a sale.

Fortunately, some of the best deals are also some of the cheapest.

Under £20: The Logitech G305 at £18.99 is our standout pick.

Around £35: The Fire TV Stick 4K at £32.99 is worth considering if you want an inexpensive streaming upgrade.

For PC gamers: Keep an eye on Amazon’s gaming accessories section, where mice, keyboards and other peripherals are often discounted during Prime events.

Our Favourite Prime Day Deals So Far

If we had to narrow the entire list down to just three products, these would be our picks.

🥇 Best overall gaming deal — Nintendo Switch 2

At £354.99, the Switch 2 is currently one of the most compelling discounts we’ve seen during the event.

🥈 Best cheap upgrade — Logitech G305

At £18.99, it’s almost impossible to argue with the value here.

🥉 Best major PC upgrade — Acer Nitro V16 RTX 5070

£200 off an RTX 5070 gaming laptop makes this the deal to look at if you’re shopping with a four-figure budget.

Is Amazon Prime Worth It for Prime Day?

Most of the headline Prime Big Deal Days offers are available exclusively to Prime members.

Amazon’s Prime membership currently costs £8.99 per month in the UK, while eligible new customers can take advantage of a 30-day free trial. Amazon also includes Prime Video, Amazon Music and fast delivery as part of the membership.

If you’re planning to make a sizeable purchase during the sale, the free trial could make sense if you’re eligible.

Just remember to check the terms of the trial and cancel before renewal if you don’t intend to keep the membership.

How to Spot a Bad Prime Day Deal

A big percentage next to a product doesn’t automatically make it a good deal.

Before buying, check the following.

Look at the actual price history. A product’s advertised “was” price isn’t necessarily what it has been selling for recently.

Compare other retailers. Amazon isn’t the only retailer competing for your money during Prime Day. Currys, Argos, Scan, CCL and other UK retailers may have similar or better offers.

Check the exact model. Pay particular attention to GPU models, RAM, storage capacity, screen resolution and refresh rate when buying PC hardware.

Don’t get caught by urgency. Lightning Deals and countdown timers are designed to encourage quick decisions. If you didn’t need the product before seeing the discount, ask yourself whether you actually need it now.

Check the seller. Not every Amazon listing is sold directly by Amazon. Check the seller and fulfilment information before placing an expensive order.

What About Black Friday?

One question worth asking before making a particularly expensive purchase is whether you should wait.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days takes place less than two months before Black Friday, which means some shoppers may be tempted to hold off.

For genuinely strong deals — particularly products reaching unusually low prices — waiting isn’t necessarily the best strategy. There’s no guarantee that a particular product will be cheaper in November.

However, if you’re looking at a relatively small discount on an expensive product, waiting for Black Friday could make more sense.

In other words: don’t buy something simply because it says Prime Day. Buy it because the price is genuinely good.

Final Verdict

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026 has some genuinely worthwhile gaming and PC deals, but you don’t need to buy everything with a red discount badge.

The Nintendo Switch 2 at £354.99 is the standout gaming deal, while the Logitech G305 at £18.99 is our favourite cheap upgrade.

For anyone spending considerably more, the Acer Nitro V16 RTX 5070 at £1,099.99 is the deal we’d investigate first.

Prime Big Deal Days runs until October 7, so prices and stock can change quickly.
