Minecraft’s vast oceans contain hidden treasures and structures waiting to be discovered. Shipwrecks and ocean monuments unlock thrilling underwater adventures for bold players willing to dive deep. Here’s what to expect when exploring these aquatic landmarks.
Looting Sunken Shipwrecks
Half-buried shipwrecks generate across ocean and beach biomes, containing chests of loot for savvy explorers. They come in four sizes – tiny, small, medium and large – with larger wrecks holding more valuable chests. Gear up with:
- Helmet – Provides underwater breathing.
- Door or Trapdoors – Quick air pocket access.
- Sword – Fend off guardians and drowned.
- Pickaxe – Break your way into buried sections.
- Torches – Light your way through dark hulls.
Smash open chests to uncover iron, gold, diamonds, emeralds, enchanted books and more. But beware patrolling drowned looking to defend their plunder!
Surviving the Ocean Monument
Constructed from stone bricks and prismarine, ocean monuments rise from the seafloor, guarded by swarms of elder guardians. Inside you’ll find special blocks like wet and dry sponges, prismarine and sea lanterns – perfect for underwater bases!
But surviving the monument’s claustrophobic halls and rooms against elder guardians takes skill:
- Water Breathing and Night Vision Potions – Essential for exploration.
- Full Iron or Diamond Armor – Reduces guardian laser damage.
- Diamond Sword and Bow – Take down guardians at range.
- Blocks for Maneuvering – Maneuver up and down easily.
- Doors for Air Pockets – Catch a breath when needed.
- Patience! – Don’t rush and aggro too many guardians.
Brave the depths and claim your treasures! Just be well prepared for the dangers lurking in the depths. Enjoy your glorious aquatic adventures!
