With the launch of Fortnite OG (November 3rd), a slew of weapons from the original Fortnite from 2018 have returned to the game’s loot pool. One of those weapons are the Hand Grenades, which have returned after being “Vaulted” (removed) in update V26.00. The Hand Grenade which deals 40 damage to players, and 75 damage to structures is a really powerful throwable tool to collect.
Along with other returning weapons such as the Grenade Launcher, Rocket launcher and Assault Rifle, Fortnite OG returns the original 2018 map, causing the active player count to raise to 5,000,000 concurrent players for the first time since the game’s launch back in 2018.
Where to loot Hand Grenades in Fortnite OG?
The Hand Grenade can be looted in every ground loot box, which makes it easy to get your hands on the new (old) throwable.

Once found, you can stack up to 6 Hand Grenades in your inventory, which makes them a great tool to take out your enemies in build modes, when you need to break through their builds.
Fortnite Hand Grenade tips
When it comes to using the Hand Grenades in Fortnite OG, you’ll first want to get familiar with the throwing range of the grenades. Just like all throwables in Fortnite, they have a maximum range once thrown. To throw a grenade further, aim into the air and watch the outline expand to the target point.
Just like Boogie Bombs, you’ll want to be careful to throw them far enough so that they do not hit you, as they can give you a nasty surprise if you get delt 40 damage by the hand grenade. Remember that hand grenades will also roll down hills, so be careful when you’re throwing them uphill, or they might land right at your feet.
In most FPS games, you can “cook” the grenade, in order to make it explode sooner, but that is not possible in Fortnite.
