In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare III is all set to take you on a thrilling ride through the world of multiplayer gaming. With a vast array of classic Modern Warfare multiplayer maps, including all 16 launch maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), MWIII multiplayer is a nostalgic treat for long-time fans.
Modernizing the Classics
Sledgehammer Games is on a mission to capture the essence of the Call of Duty community’s favourite maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). The Beta version showcases a selection of these beloved maps: Favela, Estate, Skidrow, Rust, and Highrise, all available from day one.
These maps have undergone modernization, retaining their original charm while receiving a graphical facelift. From intense matches of Team Deathmatch to Domination and Kill Confirmed, the gameplay demonstrates how these maps adapt seamlessly to the evolving world of Call of Duty.
New Maps and Post-Launch Content
The fun doesn’t stop at launch. Modern Warfare III promises new Ground War maps and a War mode map on the very first day, with more exciting content in the pipeline. Post-launch, players can look forward to at least 12 new Core 6v6 maps, starting with three fresh maps in Season 01 and an additional trio in Season 02.
Returning Favourites and New Features
Map Voting returns, allowing players to have a say in what comes next. The classic minimap makes a comeback, making red dots a part of the strategy for tracking enemy movement. Dead Silence is back, offering silent movement for those who prefer a low-profile approach. Core Multiplayer health receives an upgrade to 150 points, influencing the Time-to-Kill (TTK).
Enhanced Movement and Combat
Modern Warfare III offers responsive movement, enabling players to navigate the map swiftly. Cancel slide and reload animations, mantle objects while sprinting, and even fire while sliding. The new Tac-Stance, a balance between hip fire and aiming down sights, introduces tactical gameplay possibilities.
New Weapons and Operators
Carry forward your inventory from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, but also anticipate a range of new weapons and Operators. The Rival 9 SMG, Longbow Sniper Rifle, and Warden Kortac Operator are some of the exciting additions.
Loadouts: New Gear in MWIII Multiplayer
Perks are reimagined and categorized into Vests, Gloves, Boots, and Gear. These items offer unique abilities without altering your Operator’s appearance.
- Vests provide special abilities and determine equipment loadout options.
- Gloves enhance weapon and equipment handling.
- Boots offer mobility enhancements.
- Gear items affect your Operator’s capabilities.
Aftermarket Parts
Gunsmith and Loadouts introduce Aftermarket Parts in MWIII Multiplayer, allowing players to dramatically alter a weapon’s function beyond conventional attachments. Completing in-game challenges unlocks these unique configurations.
New Equipment
Get ready to deploy new items in your Loadouts:
- Breacher Drone (Lethal Equipment): A slow-moving explosive drone that targets enemies.
- Mosquito Drone (Killstreak): An explosive drone that circles and dive-bombs approaching foes.
- A.C.S. (Field Upgrade): A deployable item that contributes to your team’s score.
- Comm Scrambler (Field Upgrade): Denies enemy Killstreaks and Field Upgrades in its vicinity.
Game Modes: Cutthroat, Ground War, War
In addition to classic 6v6 Core matches, Modern Warfare III introduces the Cutthroat game mode, a fast-paced 3v3v3 showdown. Ground War makes a grand return, while the War mode offers a thrilling linear objective-based gameplay experience.
