A Guide to Finding and Using Elytra in Minecraft PE
Elytra is one of the most sought-after items in Minecraft PE due to its unique ability to grant the power of flight. They are essentially a pair of wings that a player can wear in their chestplate slot, allowing them to glide through the air and explore the Minecraft world from a whole new perspective. Here’s a guide on how to find and use Elytra in Minecraft PE.
Finding Elytra is no small feat as it involves exploring The End, the game’s final dimension. You’ll need to defeat the Ender Dragon and then use the teleportation portal that appears afterwards, which will take you to the outer islands of The End. Here, you’ll find tall structures called End Cities. Elytra can be found inside an item frame in the treasure room of an End Ship, a floating ship structure that sometimes generates near End Cities.
Once you have acquired the Elytra, you can equip it in your chestplate slot. To start flying, you need to jump from a height of at least four blocks and then press the ‘Jump’ button again while in mid-air. You can control your flight direction by looking towards where you want to go. Be aware that Elytra has a durability and can break with excessive use, but it can be repaired using Phantom Membranes at an Anvil.
Mastering the use of Elytra opens up a world of possibilities, from swift exploration to executing impressive aerial maneuvers. It’s worth noting that you can enhance your Elytra flights with the use of Fireworks, which can be used mid-flight to boost your speed and altitude. Just remember to always keep an eye on the Elytra’s durability to avoid a mid-air surprise. Happy flying!
