Base building changes to Palworld 1.0

Palworld 1.0 is officially rewriting the rules of base management. If you have spent hours wrestling with base boundaries, finicky crafting menus, or Pals that refuse to put items in the right chest, this massive update is going to feel like a completely different game.

Pocketpair has listened to the community, introducing everything from aquatic construction to smarter worker AI. Here is a breakdown of every single change coming to your base.

Aesthetic Overhauls: Ancient ruins and faux greenery

Building just got a massive aesthetic upgrade. If you want to build a cliffside fortress or a sprawling garden, you finally have the tools to do it.

  • Going Green: You can now craft faux greenery to liven up your base. Options range from cherry blossoms and tropical greenery to snowy variants, bamboo, and colorful bushes.
  • The Ancient Aesthetic: A massive suite of ancient-civilization structures has arrived. You can now build foundations, walls, roofs, stairs, and even an “Ancient Pal Passage Entrance” using these new textures.
  • Fixing the Roofs: Say goodbye to awkward gaps in your architecture. The developers added an Inverted Slanted Triangular Roof alongside inverted corner variants for wood, stone, metal, glass, Japanese-style, and clean sets.
  • New Furniture: You can now decorate with tidy round or square tables, arcade game cabinets, and massive statues of Jetragon and Frostallion.

Nautical bases are finally here

The biggest structural addition is the Aquatic Construction Kit. Players are no longer confined to dry land and can officially build bases along shorelines and out at sea.

Heads Up on Boundaries: Because of the new ocean building system, the outer boundaries of Palpagos Island have been adjusted. If you load up an older save (v0.7.3 or earlier) and find yourself stuck outside the map, just use the “Emergency Escape” option in the menu.

Smarter Pals, easier automation

Managing your workforce just got a whole lot smoother. Pals are getting a major intelligence boost to stop them from slacking off or getting stuck.

  • Bulk Hauling: Pals with the Transport trait can now grab nearby dropped items of the exact same type from a much wider area all at once. No more single-item trips.
  • Task Focus: Base Pals will now prioritize finishing partially progressed tasks rather than abandoning them halfway through.
  • Hot Spring Logic: When a stressed Pal goes to a hot spring, they will actually stay there until their SAN is fully recovered.
  • Smart Automation: Your party Pals will now automatically help you chop trees or mine rocks if you start damaging them. Even better, you can now set fixed assignments from the Monitoring Stand for sleeping Pals.

Quality of life UI updates

You will no longer need to spend minutes hunting down a specific recipe or guessing what a structure does.

  • Searchable Crafting: The Crafting UI now features category filters and a direct name search function. Craftable items will also automatically jump to the top of the list.
  • No More Repair Kits: The individual “Repair Kit” item has been entirely removed from the game. Pals with the Handiwork trait can now repair your damaged structures for free without consuming resources.
  • Chest Overhauls: You can now name your chests, paint them different colors, and use an auto-deposit feature for matching items.
  • Financial Freedom: When buying items from a merchant inside your base, the game will now pull gold directly from your storage chests automatically.

Advanced utility and health buildings

The update introduces high-tier utility buildings that reduce the need to constantly scout the map for rare materials.

  • Infinite Resources: The Ancient Material Synthesizer can produce various raw materials like ore directly at your base, while the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor lets you pull crude oil without needing a designated oil field.
  • Pal Healthcare: You can now construct the Clinic and Ancient Clinic. Assigned Medicine Pals will use these to actively reduce SAN depletion and suppress worker illnesses.
  • Upgraded Monitoring Stands: High-Quality and Ancient versions of the Monitoring Stand have been added, which help keep your Pals’ SAN levels high while they work.

Overworld adjustments and fast travel

Getting around and finding the perfect spot to settle down is now significantly easier.

  • Map Fast Travel: You no longer need to physically walk up to your Palbox to teleport. If you are standing within your base range, you can fast travel directly from your map screen to other bases or Great Eagle Statues.
  • More Merchants: Depending on your base level, up to 18 types of specialized visiting merchants (selling everything from vegetables and meat to ammo and Pal materials) can now stop by.
  • Resource Buffs: Ore distribution has been increased across the overworld, meaning you have far more viable base locations. Pure Quartz yields have also been buffed in snowy regions, and higher-tier pickaxes and axes will net you more resources overall.

Bug fixes and minor tweaks

  • World Settings: New sliders allow you to adjust ranch item production times and global Work Speed multipliers.
  • Safe Zones: Enemy bases will no longer accidentally spawn right next to your territory.
  • Visual Polish: Massive passes have been made to fix flickering, gaps, clipping, and shadow rendering errors when snapping walls, roofs, and foundations together.
  • Persistent Assignments: A frustrating bug that reset ranch assignments after logging out has been officially resolved.
