Minecraft Camels are the latest addition to the dynamic cube world of Minecraft, a realm that constantly evolves, fueled by regular content updates from Mojang. In Minecraft Live 2022, held in October 2022, Mojang teased the features of the upcoming Minecraft 1.20 Update. Among those features, the introduction of a new mob, the Minecraft Camels, sparked great interest. This article covers all you need to know about these fascinating creatures.
Let’s delve into the specifics of finding, riding, and breeding Minecraft Camels, including any additional details that you may find useful.
In the Minecraft universe, the Desert biome is the exclusive habitat of camels, reflecting their real-world counterparts. You’ll likely encounter these creatures in small groups. Despite their affinity for desert regions, their exact spawning is restricted to Desert villages. However, you may also come across wandering camels exploring the adjacent territories on their miniature adventures.
Locating camels can be challenging due to the relative rarity of Desert villages. However, the large expanse of Desert biomes, identifiable by their unique sand landscapes, compensates for this. To find a Desert village, traverse across the vast desert biomes hoping to stumble upon these randomly-generated structures.
Minecraft Camels, much like other animal mobs in the game, can be tamed and ridden with the correct knowledge. Interaction with camels allows you to ride them, achievable through a default right-click. Riding in this manner, however, doesn’t offer any control and leaves you at the mercy of the camel’s leisurely wandering.
To gain control while riding, you must possess a saddle. Since crafting saddles isn’t an option, you must unearth one from a dungeon or Nether fortress chest. With a saddle, you can instantly tame a camel and navigate freely, avoiding any troublesome taming processes.
If you’re acquainted with Minecraft’s breeding mechanics, you’ll know that animal mobs can produce adorable offspring. This holds true for Minecraft Camels as well.
Breeding animals like pigs and cows is a typical method to secure meat in survival mode. Minecraft Camels, however, don’t provide meat, preventing any slaughter for sustenance.
If you wish to breed camels nonetheless, you need to bring two of them close together. The simplest way is to lure them into a small enclosure, blocking the exit, and creating an overhead entrance for you.
Once the camels are confined, feed each a piece of cactus. Cacti can be sourced naturally from Desert and Badlands biomes. After the camels consume the cacti, wait a brief moment, and you’ll soon spot a baby camel beside them. The arrival of each newborn camel will reward you with one to seven experience orbs.
