Are you in the loop regarding XDefiant? If not, here’s a brief introduction for you. XDefiant is a competitive arcade shooter seeking to offer an enhanced version of CoD-like games, more specifically something akin to BO4.
XDefiant plans to offer classic shooter modes such as Hardpoint/King of the Hill, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch, in 6vs6 and 4vs4 versions. Players can align with various factions in XDefiant, each offering a unique additional in-game ability. The game is set in the present day or near-future, featuring familiar weaponry like M4s and MP5s, and abilities such as active camo and bubble shield. To achieve a high skill-ceiling, XDefiant developers are consulting with former pro players from similar games, including Aches (also known as Patty P). If you’ve had your fill of Battle Royales and are longing for an old-school arcade shooter, XDefiant could be just what you’re looking for. Read on for more information on when does XDefiant come out and the forthcoming beta.
When Does XDefiant Come Out – Full Game Launch Details?
XDefiant is scheduled for release in “Summer 2023”, potentially in August, though an official confirmation is yet to arrive. As a live-service game built from the ground up, it makes sense for XDefiant to step outside the typical October/November release window, particularly for a free-to-play title. There’s no need to wait until Christmas to secure a copy of XDefiant; just download it upon its release. This schedule also helps XDefiant avoid direct competition with Modern Warfare 3.
Which Platforms Will Support XDefiant?
XDefiant will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X, essentially covering all next-gen platforms. And yes, from the day of its release, XDefiant will support full crossplay functionality. However, whether players can disable this feature is currently unknown.
