With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s release date fast approaching on November 10, excitement is building for the game’s upcoming beta. Here’s a rundown of all the key details revealed so far about MWIII’s beta.
MWIII Beta Platforms
The MWIII beta will provide an early hands-on preview of the game for fans who pre-order or pre-purchase. Participants can explore multiplayer maps and modes while providing feedback to help polish the game for launch.
Platforms confirmed for the beta so far are PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Battle.net, and PC via Steam.
Early Access
Players who pre-order digitally on PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net or Steam will automatically gain early access to the beta. Physical pre-order customers will receive a code from retailers. However, it’s likely that PlayStation players will receive access to the beta before any other players.
Open Beta
The beta will include both an early access period for pre-order customers as well as an open beta portion open to all players. Exact start dates are still to be announced.
MWIII Beta Details
Currently, no details have been revealed about which maps, modes, or progression/content from the main game will be included in the beta build. This information will likely come closer to beta launch.
Dates
Recently leaked online by a Game employee were the dates of the Beta for MWIII. With the Beta said to be starting on October 6th.
MWIII Beta Progress
While experience and unlocks won’t carry over from the beta to the full MWIII launch, the beta remains vital for testing servers, gameplay balance, bugs, and more.
Information is still scarce, but the beta promises an exciting early look at the next evolution of Call of Duty’s signature multiplayer, with a beta FAQ posted recently on the Call of Duty blog.
